HOW TO MEASURE
The measurement forms, available for printing1 in this website, are designed to make the measuring of your yacht as simple as possible.
They show in clear diagrams the exact measurements which are required for ordering sails.
Please print the relevant PDF measurement sheets and take them with you to your
yacht.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE "PDF" MEASUREMENT SHEETS ARE IN A FORMAT ESPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR DOWNLOADING AND PRINTING AND MAY TAKE SOME MINUTES TO DOWNLOAD, DEPENDING ON THE SPEED OF YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION.
(The other measurement sheets are the same but are in a format for displaying in internet and open more quickly than the PDF pages.)
MEASUREMENTS :
We have prepared detailed MEASUREMENT SHEETS which should make it easy for you to take the measurements on your own yacht.
Don't be daunted by the prospect of measuring up for your own sails. We supply you with detailed diagrams in the Measurement Sheets which make it quite clear which measurements are required and it is a logical process !
If you have any doubts or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to assist you. You can also send us diagrams and/or photos if you wish.
It is advisable that you use a long measuring tape for the longer measurements and do not measure using a rope or line. Also, we do not recommend that you use the measurements from your old (tired !) sails when ordering new, it is better to measure the yacht fittings.
For the longer measurements (e.g. I and P) we recommend that you buy, or borrow, a long tape measure so as to be able to take these measurements exactly.
Please do NOT use a rope and then measure it.
Also, it is NOT recommended to measure up old sails for your final order. Old sails can give guidance for an initial quote, but when ordering it is much better to measure the actual yacht dimensions and fittings and not the old sail which may be stretched and malformed.
We are here to help you should you have any questions about measuring and you can also send us extra diagrams should you feel that something on your yacht is not adequately covered in the measurement sheet2 requirements.

2 The Measurement Sheets for filling in and sending directly from this Website were tested and found to function only with Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 34 and AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Safari/534.30 and their more recent versions. The website forms are designed that the information which you insert, are stored in the cache until you require them. In this manner you can start completing the measurement details but can close the website and return later and the measurement information completed earlier has been stored. When you have sent the measurement form to us, you will get a confirmation e-mail which has a link so that you can see and/or retrieve the information which you had sent to us. You can clear all details by clicking the appropriate box at the end of the page.
